Todays Events

Today we had an outing to the local park!! We also invited our community police officers to join us to talk with the children about road safety, which came from a current interest in common vehicles. The children really enjoyed being out in our community and listened very intently as the officers talked about road rules. On our way back to the centre it was clear the children had paid attention by putting theory into practice!! And a big THANK YOU to all parents and special people who could help us on our outing, we really appreciated your support. Due to adult/children ratios we would not have been able to do this with out you, so again thank you :)

Chicken Pox

Just to let you all know we have had a couple of cases of chicken pox within our centre. As a reminder those who have had them will only be able to return once the last spot has scabbed over, this is to hopefully contain the spread, preventing others from getting chicken pox. Unfortunately, chicken pox is highly contagious before the spots come out, which is why we are alerting you all. We are thinking of you all, we understand that although chicken pox are common they are not pleasant :(

A Friendly Reminder :)

What a beautiful week we have had in the Hawke's Bay sunshine. Our sun screening system is working perfectly. A big thank you for being on board with this. Our tamariki are doing a wonderful job at wearing their sun hats for outside play. Please remember our "Sweaty Summer" policy is now up for review. As you may know this is displayed on the notice board in our foyer area and appreciate all feedback provided. Additionally, you should have all received an email about this, however if you haven't and wish to provide feedback through email please let us know.

What about those trying times?

For those of you who have had some difficulty and approached us about toilet training, below is a link to a helpful article that may be of interest. If there are any other ways in which we can support you and your child in this area please let us know :)

Welcoming A New Whanau To Ours....

A very warm welcome to Harry Karangaroa and his whanau. We look forward to supporting and working alongside you and your whanau as you learn, develop and grow within our environment.

Summers here..YAY!

What beautiful weather we have been having and as we all know its only going to get hotter.
Just a friendly reminder that our "Sweaty Summer" Policy is now in place. This is displayed in the foyer area which provides you all the opportunity to give feedback. Additionally, this policy will be up for review within the next month and you will all be emailed or given a hard copy to provide feedback if you wish.

THANK YOU to all who have continued to use the sunblock provided on the shelf in the bag area to ensure your children are ready for outside play at drop off. We then ensure all children have their sunblock reapplied throughout the day.

Our Working Bee Was A Huge Success!

A big THANK YOU to all our families/whanau who supported our outdoor working bee last Saturday. With the new trees planted shade will be provided for children as they enjoy our outdoor environment this summer. Not only were trees planted, but the gardens were tidied and extra vegetables were added to our community garden.

Welcome to Natures Way - Care and Education Centre

Kia Ora and Welcome to Natures Way Care and Education Centres new means of communication- Our personalised blog!

A brief history about us..

Natures way has a philosophy which highlights the significance of of care and education being child led. It is a unique philosophy which is founded from the passion Penny Brownlee has towards respecting infants and toddlers as individuals who rely on their innate abilities to achieve and succeed. As a team we have embraced aspects of Penny Brownlee's book "Dance with me in the heart" and promote freedom of movement, respectful relationships, attachment and trusting that children are capable and competent, which we practice with energy, enthusiasm and drive.

Join our blog..

For our new and current families/whanau we are promoting a new means of communication to encourage your involvement, input and suggestions you have for our teaching team. More importantly, we want to work with you, using our blog to share whats happening within our centre for your children, share photos and learning stories, as well as, notices and reminders. Working in partnership with you allows you the chance to have your say in things like policies, the running of the programme and assessment for your child which will help us to achieve the aspirations you have for your child for their learning and development.

Feel free to have a look and don't hesitate to ask us any questions!
